Note: This studentship has now been filled – looking forward to Gerry joining the group in September!
STUDENTSHIP AVAILABLE: University of Edinburgh & Axis-Shield Diagnostics are funding a 3 year studentship exploring biomedical sensors. We have developed, in house, a family of polymers that can selectively detect miRNA sequences. The successful student will work as part of a team to explore the potential of these important materials. We are seeking a student who is keen to work in a multi-disciplinary field; a background in chemistry or engineering would be suitable and extra experience in organic chemistry, polymer chemistry and/or microfabrication would be beneficial – however full training is provided for the right candidate. Above all we are looking for someone who is driven and passionate about science.
